the story is  about a princess who lives along with the queen, her stepmother. the evil stepmother, who knows black magic has a mirror to tell her that she is fairest of all, until, one day the mirror says that it is "snowwhite" who is fairest of all. the jealous lady hires a man to kill snowwhite. in the meanwhile, the princess snowwhite meets and falls in love with her prince charming. the man hired by the evil stepmother, instead goes and tells snowwhite that she should hide before her stepmother kills her.

snowwhite rescues in a house lived by seven dwarfs and in return, does cleaning, washing and cooking for them. soon, they all become a family. the queen, comes to know about it. she disguises as a poor old lady. she makes a poisoned apple specially for snowwhite so that she eats it and dies. the old wicked lady reaches the home of seven dwarfs to find snowwhite working all alone and makes her eat that apple. she eats it and dies. the seven dwarfs comes to know about it. they cant manage to bury beautiful snowwhite and hence make a coffin of glass and gold for her. soon, the prince also comes to know about her and come to meet the princess for the last time. as soon as, he kisser snowhite, she comes to live; the reason was "love's first kiss" being the only way to break the magic spell of poisoned apple. and then, they live happily ever after.

the movie is  happy-go-fun-to-watch. the element that is different in this fairytale from other is the one that, more of the plot is picturised in showing the life events of snowhite. and not merely on prince-princess romance. but then, to put in other words, there was no romance at all. the concept of seven dwarfs in way too unique, unlike, some old granny or 3 fairies or something else. also, the seven dwarfs are very cute and funny to watch. there are instances of comedy in the movie, like, a tortoise among the group of a lot many birds and animals who is always late. poor little creature. hheeh! one more thing, that is, different is, snowhite has short hair, unlike all other princess with long hair. the way everybody in the movie enjoys work is really very inspiring. like, snowhite and friends (birds and animals) enjoying washing, cleaning, cooking, etc. also the seven dwarfs enjoying digging. now coming to point which i dint like. the moment when snowhite is told to leave her home since the queen wants to kill her. the way snowhite is depicted runnning here and there in hustle-bustle and the entire of universe ready to engulf her is really really melodramatic. i find it rediculous. also, the body language of snowwhite in entire movie is way too much melodramatic.

overall, the movie ranks good if i am looking for good fairytales. but, it would be ranking low in a list of romantic fairytales. 

sleeping beauty

the story is about a baby princess who has taken birth from a king and queen. king and queen are very excited about the same and call everybody for the celebration including 3 fairies. the first fairy gives the gift of  beauty to her. the second fairy gives the gift of beautiful song to her. before 3rd fairy gives the gift, mistress of evil Maleficent comes and gives the curse to the little princess that after her 16th birthday, she would prick her finger on the needle of a spinning wheel and die. evil Maleficent then disappers. third fairy gives the gift to princess in order to break this curse. she says that if this curse comes true anyhow, princess will only be sleeping and if  her true love comes and gives the princess a kiss of true love, the curse would be broken and princess would be awaken from sleep and live. the later plot of the story hence follows. princess meet her prince charming after turning 16 and they both fall in love with each other. the princess, as cursed by Maleficent, sleeps after being pricked by the spindle of a spinnning wheel. with the help of 3 fairies, prince destroys Maleficent and reaches princess to kiss her. she wakes up. then, they live happily ever after.

overall, the movie is good. the concept of breaking the evil curse by LOVE is really captivating. the way princess aurora is described as hair of silver and lips that shame a rose is cute. the three fairies bring princess aurora as their own daughter. the movie undoubtedly holds a charm. but, there are a few things which are a bit stupid in movie. for example, why the hell maleficent is after aurora. why does she curse her. what personal motto of hers is getting fulfilled by this. is she doing all this just because she is evil and it would be a disgrace to her to not to do all this?  one more thing. aurora and phillip fall in love with each other. both of them do not want to marry the partner with whom their marriage has been fixed. it is later they realise that they both are in love with the prince and princess only. this is sortof funny. but, since this is a fairytale, accepted. no rules and regulations. hehe :D

but, yeah, the movie is not that romantic the much it could have been. not much of the romantic scenes between prince and princess were witnessed. but, yes, the spirit of love has been maintained till the end. the way prince phillip crosses all hurdles to kiss his princess is way too much romantic. hmm. i did enjoy the movie. specially, the three fairies. :)

beauty and the beast

an old classic and romantic story i must say.

the story is about a prince. at his doorstep, an ugly woman once comes and asks for shelter and in return, she has nothing to give but a rose. the prince degrades that old woman and tell her to go away. in no time, the old woman turns into a beautiful lady and cast a spell on prince and his castle. she makes the prince into the most ugliest of beast. she says only after his 21st birthday, if he is able to get a girl truly love her, only then the spell would break. otherwise, he remains a beast forever. then there is this sweet little girl named belle. she loves books, his father and underrates outer beauty. she knows only one thing: inner beauty. the story follows about how belle and beast falls in love with each other. eventually, the spells breaks and beast turns back into a beautiful prince. 

i really really liked this story more than ever. while i watch other fairytales, trust me, i dont really like the routine of projecting the guy and the girl as beautiful prince and princess respectively. alright?! cindrella, she wasnt a princess. but then, again, she has been projected as somebody very beautiful. as if, love is meant only to happen in lives of beautiful people?! no!

love. it is beautiful. love in itself is beauty. it doesnt seek beauty. so, the very idea of belle, who otherwise is very beautiful, falling in love with beast, this thing is really deserving a 5/5 from me. the beast loves belle. and belle loves beast. beautiful. such kind of fairytales draw the true meaning of love. it tells that love is in heart. and not any where else. 

i can watch this movie an infinite number of times and stil never get bored of watching this.

the little mermaid

the little mermaid. this one movie has been really, really very close to me since my childhood. i still remember those were my school days when i came home from school, had had my lunch and finished up with my homework. then, slept. i woke up then to rush with some tv and not miss my favourite show. "ariel: the little mermaid".  at that time, this was telecasted in form of a tv show. every  episode in itself was a 20-30 minute episode (i am not very sure though). at that time, i really loved watching it. just to relive my old childhood, this is what exactly i did just now. i watched the movie: "the little mermaid". here goes the link:

the movie is definitely a must watch. ariel, a little mermaid; she has a pretty face, a curvy body, a sweet voice and an adorable tail. she is no less than any merman's dream. but, this all is her outer beauty i am telling you about. you know, i am bewildered in realising that i never adored ariel because of these features of her, even in my childhood. still, i adored her. i adored her more than any other disney princess. you know why? because ariel is good, helping others, she has a soft and tender heart. she not only empathizes pains of others, but, also ready to help them and even sacrifice her own pleasures if she could do. she is sweet, innocent and magnificent. i always liked her for this thing, and i still do. look. isnt this amazing? even the most innocent and naive children within us have a true sense of beauty. the children could even adore a princess because of her sweetness, goodness and divinity. at the same time, ariel, is fun and frolic to be with. she likes exploring things, going beyond her imagination, thinking and day dreaming of things which are seemingly impossible for everyone. at the same time, she is a little immature, naive and simply innocent. but, you see, she is 16. she definitely has right to be so. she has the right to be immature. you, really, really need to step out of your comfort zone to push your dream forward and live your life. in my words, this isnt immaturity. this is being daring and adventurous.

alright! the story goes like this. ariel is the youngest of the seven daughters of the sea king triton, that is, ariel is a little mermaid. she has a fish as her best friend named flounder. there is this crab, named, sebastian, who is left by king triton to keep a watch on ariel, but, eventually turns out to be her friend. her daddy, triton, loves ariel, but is only a little concerned about her and so tells sebastian to look after her. the mermaid, ariel, keeps collecting items related to humans left over in sea from here and there and has maintained a full collection of them. she, somehow, dreams of having two legs and walking and dancing upon the world out of sea. she has something very magnetic for humans. she really wanna explore more.

one day, a ship was passing by sea and ariel comes to know about it. she sneeks a peak into it only to encounter "the prince Eric" playing with his dog Max. she finds Eric handsome. Max observes her watching Eric and loves little ariel for doing that. Max now knows who is ariel, though Eric doesnt. within no time, lightning and thunderstorm breaks down and the ship starts sinking and is set to fire. all people manage to be transported to boats safely except for Max. Prince Eric jumps back to boat to save Max. Max is rescued, but Eric starts drowning. Ariel comes and saves Eric and brings him to off shore. Eric is almost fainted. Ariel, as usual, starts singing song; sweet voice she has. Eric opens his eyes very hazily and listens her sweet singing voice. within no time, other humans of his ship come and Ariel jumps back to sea. Eric strongly knows it is a girl who has rescued him and she has sweet singing voice. He realises he has fallen in love with her.

ariel, goes happy, merry go, singing and dancing, all around in sea. hence, everybody knows she has fallen in love. the king, triton, calls sebastian to know who is he? but, scared sebastian, presumes that triton already knows and confesses accidentally about  ariel falling in love with a human.

angry triton searches for ariel in sea. he finds her singing and dancing all around that castles she has made with human articles. he also finds a statue of Eric that must have been lost in sea when the ship sank. triton scolds ariel and destroys the entire castle. poor ariel is left crying in the sea.

the sea is ruled by king triton. but, there is also a corner of the sea where no one wants to go. the place where the sea witch ursura lives. she makes mermen and mermaids her slave and traps their soul. ursura plots to trap king triton through ariel. she send her messengers to ariel and ask them to bring ariel to her. on meeting ariel, ursura pretends that she is a changed mermaid now and she now helps poor unfortunate souls. she keeps a deal in front of ariel. she asks ariel to give her sweet voice to ursura and in return, ursura would make ariel a human for 3 days. before the sunset of third day, she should get eric kiss her. if she succeds, she becomes a human forever. otherwise, she becomes her slave.

ariel signs this contract with her. she goes to land, the world of humans. eric is left dumbstruck at founding her sitting on a rock piece and trys to talk to her. but, ariel cannot speak. eventually, eric takes him to his home and then they start spending some time together. eric is somewhat falling for ariel but is also drawn back as he still desires for that girl who saved her and is longing for it. his father asks him to stop running after some dream and accept that sweet little girl who is there in front of him. before eric decides to marry ariel, ursura comes in disguise as vanessa in front of eric as the same girl who saved her. she uses ariel's voice to convince him. ariel comes to know about it and is upset about the same.

scuttle, ariel's friend, while fying, comes to know that vanessa is no else that ursura in disguise and tells ariel about that. on the day wedding, scuttle along with its friends try stopping their marriage. they break that pendant of vanessa within which ursura has trapped ariel's voice. the voice goes back to ariel and vanessa transforms back to ursura. prince eric now knows that his true love is no other than ariel itself. ariel and eric are about to kiss each other when sun sets and ariel is trapped by ursura as per contract.

when king of sea, triton comes to know about it, he exchanges his life in return of freeing ariel. hence, ursura gets the trident of triton and becomes more powerful than ever. eric now knows everything. he comes in way of ursura and destroys her.

after ursura is destroyed, triton and humdreds of those innocent mermen and mermaids that have been captured by ursura become freed. triton decides to get his little mermaid ariel married to eric. with his magical powers, he converts ariel into a human. eric and ariel get married and then they live happily ever after.

top 10 most romantic disney movies

alright! so here goes the challenge. the challenge is to watch top 10 most romantic disney movies and write review on them. now, this is pretty difficult. i mean, there is, no parameter to declare top 10. so, i spiced it up a little. i will search over the internet to find most romantic movies. obviously, the internet is full of suggestions. hence, i made a small list of movies which may or may not be a part of top 10. so, here goes the list of names of a few romantic classic movies i came across (randomely arranged):

a few of this movies are really very, very close to my heart and are been printed onto my soul. a few of this movies, i have read or heard about somewhat, or must have watched in childhood i barely remember. at the same time, a few of this movies i am hearing for the first time. whatever be the case, this is the aim of starting this blog: reliving my childhood. i would watch each and every movie atleast once and would blog on it. and after having watched all of them, i would declare top 10 most romantic and classic romantic movies.

also. a few of this movies have been really very close to my heart. i mean to say, my childhood has been nurtured with them. for example, the little mermaid. so, i may be bias in creating the list of top 10. but, at the same time, i would really be happy to find some other movie which is still bette than this and i was absolutely ignorant about it. i mean, finding something better than the obvious, would again be an overwhelming pigment.

so. let us start with the project.

introduction

hello people!

I had been blogging for last 3 years. this is approximately the time when my college life began. this make me wonder  my passion for writing and hence, blogging has really been cultivated during my college life.

My 8th semester, that is, last semester, started on 15th feb 2015, that is, 2 days  before. i was deeply involved in this thought since last few weeks. the thought being this: "my  college life is coming to an end. my 8th semester is no less than story of 2.5 months or so, keeping into consideration, it is  already mid of feb and our examination season would  begin somewhere in may. i thought deep and deeper what could i do, how could i utilise my remaining time in best possible way. also, since, it is  only sundays (full day) and other week days (half days) available, i couldnt  think of taking up a course or something.

i was busy watching a few movies (hindi, english or punjabi may be), some songs, or may be reading some online magazines (alright! i admit i do browse through cosmopolitan at times. i know its crazy!). but, i still was thinking what can be done that i havent really done before and i would feel good after doing this and can be done on a sunday sitting and chillaxing in my bed. and then, i thought of  doing this.

the disney world. this is a small blog i have started. for now, i have thought of watching 1 disney movie every week and writing a review about it. and, and, the story doesnt finish here. i will try to break the monotonity be taking up a new task everyday. for example, my first task in itself will be to find top 10 romantic movies and arrange them in the order, that is, from most romantic to least romantic.
